Yes, and Greenspan himself has been quite mindful of the FED's duty as the lender-of-last-resort to the market makers and big houses in the market in times of crunch, as shown in 1987. The question is how he intends to devalue the "Greenspan put," which is in fact his official responsibility, in the market place without actually shirking his official responsibility.
