James,

As I said, I was not questioning what you had to say but, just wondered if there was some reference to it in the Bible that I had missed. I have been told nothing with regard to this concept, which is why I was asking.

As far as my personal opinion goes, I think that a child that is innocent of, knowingly, commiting sin should go to Heaven. I do not know what that age is, but am sure that God does. I do not see how a child can make a conscious choice before he is able to read, and understand, the meaning of being a Christian. I don't see how a child can make a choice for salvation unless he studies the subject and knows all of the ramifications. All too many children become Christians, solely because their parents profess to be Christian, and go through life without understanding the true meaning of the Faith and the obligations that go along with such a commitment. This quite often leads to confusion and unrest which can cause the resulting adult to lose his Faith. Once the Faith is lost, it becomes even more difficult to regain. I know. I have been there and done that.

I've seen many "bratty" two and three year olds disobey their parents, clearly with the knowledge that they were disobeying and that disobedience was "bad."

I just wondered how that fit into your definition of the age of innocence, or whatever you called it.

Best wishes,
