You try too hard to dislike Al Gore. You should admit to yourself that you have self-interest in Republicans winning and let your hate settle out. It's not good for your health to obsess over these things. TP

I think your political bias is coloring your view. Both Bush and Gore are children of privilege. Both have profited from their backgrounds and received special treatment throughout much of their lives. We would never have heard of either of them if their Dad's had been plumbers. Arrogant? Yes, Gore is arrogant. But then you're a little on the arrogant side yourself - it doesn't necessarily make you a bad person. It doesn't make you unusual even - there are lots of arrogant people posting on SI. And as for being pathologically ambitious, of course, he is. So's Bush. You have to be "pathologically" ambitious just to run for President.
