NVLS is now trading at 26. Its book value is about 12.

NVLS is now trading at a lower price/book than it did during the bottom of the Asian Crisis in October 1998. (2.4 then, 2.2 now.) Its financial situation was more precarious then though because of its loss to AMAT in court. I am using the book value of 3 (8.9 pre-split) reported at end of financial year 1997 and stock price of 7 (21 pre-split.)

Many semi-equips are at going-out-of-business prices: BRKS is trading at price/book of .86--price is 23 with book of 27 and over $14 cash--you purchase a company predicted to earn $3.10 in its next financial year for $9 (P/E of 3 if you exclude the cash from their financial value.)
