I'm not commenting on the merits of the case.
I don't think it should have ever come to trial.
but what if a partisan judge rules against GW late in the day on Dec 11.
The electors must be seated on the 12th and there would be no time for an appeal.

In Miami, the Rev. Al Sharpton's National Action Network filed a federal
lawsuit on behalf of three Miami residents, claiming that minority voters
were disenfranchised because Bush was certified as the state's winner
without a completed manual recount in Miami-Dade County.

Sharpton will lead a protest Friday at the U.S. Supreme Court during
proceedings on the Florida vote.

And Rev. Jesse Jackson has been a constant presence in Florida, leading
marches in Miami-Dade, Palm Beach and Tallahassee. Yesterday, he
criticized Bush's transition planning and complained that a "victory lap
without a victory is just jogging."

Jackson will conduct a prayer vigil in front of the Supreme Court Friday.
