I made plenty of money on my LEAP puts, at least to judge from my tax bill last year. Now of course you are right, that most people who make money do so being long. I had never been short in my life. But there was clearcut insanity beginning 3-4 years ago. I am not a gambler. Never been to a horse race or a casino, not even when I could walk a few steps away from the dining room on a cruise ship. Play poker and consider $10 a killing. (Well, OK, in one group make that $50). But it was a little too obvious two-three years ago that something utterly insane was taking hold.
