It is interesting that you mention accent. I believe that half the prejudice against Bush is that he talks like a Texan. Gore has a southern accent too, of course, but he grew up in Washington, and it has been toned down considerably. People in places like New York have an unfortunate tendency to think that those with drawls are idiots. Clinton barely overcame it, but it helped that he was a Rhodes scholar........
