Jim, I agree completely. I think at this point Gore knows he is going to lose, but is persisting so as to put in the history books the lengths that the Republicans have gone to to prevent what is the legal right of any candidate. I agree that this is an issue of principle and history will not look favorably on the Republicans. I don't have any strong feelings for Al Gore, but I do think what he is doing is right. Many things have been pointed out as problems with the punch card. According to one news report, the manufacturer admitted that the top part of the ballot was harder to punch. Even with the had count of the dimpled ballots, they have counted only those where all of the other chads were punched out and only the presidential chad was not punched. I don't know how it could be more fair. The Texas Law that Bush signed calls for hand counting and accepting dimpled ballots.

This is not a Democratic or Republican issue... It's an American Constitutional issue... If these under votes are not aloud to be counted, there will be a
cloud hanging over our Constitution and how other countries perceive us...

Jim,

If you now tell me you support Bush I add a great deal of credibility to your argument. If on the other hand you are pulling for Gore it may be logical but has no credibility. It is no different than all the partisan BS we continue to hear. Not much straight talk.
