yep, fully agreed...this is just about the WORST time to be buying banks...you buy those when the nadir of the recession is reached, and talk about bankruptcies begins to swirl.

As someone who bought a lot of puts that expired worthless on the financials -- I remain stupefied that these should be a last bastion of strength -- seems they should have led or at least participated equally in the crash -- chance for government bail or not?!!!
