Sorry to but in, can't give a site, but I trade with schwab and they have an excellent research area... I wondered that question in July of 99'. Previous 1995 P/E avg'd 12-19!

Yardeni has charts of PE ratios going back 5 years in each sector here. You need Adobe Acrobat to see them.

To go farther back, you have to go to the actual NYSE and NASDAQ sites, download historical data and build them yourself in Excel or some other program. I have a few I built a year ago but haven't updated them recently as things went through the roof. If I have time this weekend, maybe I can get them up to speed again and post something.
