Dave -- ORCL: &@^$#! I had a pre-market buy order in at 21 1/4, got distracted for awhile, and didn't have a chance to look until it was going green. Larry Ellison was impressive on CNBC after-hours yesterday. The best part of the segment was when CNBC rolled some tape of an interview with ITWO earlier in the day, where ITWO said ORCL has disappeared from the applications landscape since Ray Lane left. Larry spanked ITWO bigtime, basically saying that ITWO has a cute little planning and scheduling app, but otherwise isn't a prime-time player. You could tell he really wanted to lay in, but he controlled himself. Damn!

Ellison was also asked if he is going to hire Bill Clinton after he leaves office. Ellison replied that we should just give the man a third term and forget about those losers Bush and Gore.

Very entertaining interview--. <G> More importantly, it seems the app business really is building nicely. ORCL definitely is one to watch, IMO, especially at a P/E/G of under 2 and at a 50-percent discount from its highs.
