Redbird, I agree with most of your assumptions but VIA and others need to be factored in somewhere. VIA has stated that they are shooting for 10% of the market in 2001 with the VIA Cyrix chips. Don't know what Transmeta and others hope to capture.

RE:"What I believe the market will wake up to:
AMD's earnings alone make it worth $27 ($2.50 EPS * 15 PE)
AMD is gaining market share, INTC is loosing market share.
AMD's future market share * future market value is greater than AMD's current market share * current market value (even if the market were shrinking).
AMD's price based on earnings ($27) + future growth ($33) is $60"

We've been waiting for the markets to wake up to AMDs value for a long time.
Apparently two big things preclude that...
1. General market conditions, the R word..particularly in Tech.
2. The Intel PR effect...Intel will get the benefit of the doubt and AMD must execute much better than Intel.

Considering buying some leap options now.

Yup. Just sold AMD stock to buy 30 Jan 02 $15 and 20 Jan 03 $15. If AMD stays below $20 for the next two years then I am out of the investing game for good.

Still holding. Considering buying some leap options now."

I'm with you there...AMD's relative valuation is way too low...
