You know how the SEC hates a mess. But I'll tell you who IS making this margin problem worse --- Schwab. They just cranked up the maintenance margin levels on many stocks to 50% from the usual 35%. If they'd done it a month ago, I'd have thought them prudent. Now they're increasing the pain, and they're schmucks. (I'm getting emails that speak of pain too!) Only good news is, Schwab is accelerating the creation of a bottom.
