You can thank the FED for this.
Two things have caused this and that is the FED and oil prices.

They started everything with their stupid theory about too many people working and raised interest rates at such a fast pace companies could not adjust. The high oil prices compounded the problem by raising overhead on these companies.

The FED could have stopped it long ago but they chose not to. I said when they did the 50 basis point rate hike that it was a slap in the face to all working Americans because none of the previous rate hikes had even hit the economy yet.

Either Alan Greenspan is insane or the Democratic FED members want the economy to crash at the end of their reign in congress and maybe the presidency so that in 4 years they can say...look how things were when we were in control.
