Yaacov, Re: Good post. Do you think at this rate there will a market left two weeks down the road

ROFL ! At this rate, we shall see NASDAQ at almost zero which by any definition must be the bottom :-)

assume 2 more bad weeks but the market anticipates things. Gateway may turn out to be more ""

Do you think at this rate there will a market left two weeks down the road? ANSWER PROBABLY

I am an eternal optimist. This is my greatest weakness. I didnt follow the dont fight the fed argument that intellectually I knew to be true. If I had I would have been out of the market probably at 4K on the way up to 5K but it could have been even lower the days the rates started up.
Now i will follow that adage. Not fighting the fed means not to sell when rate bias/rates will be headed down. If I were in cash i might wait for the first sign of that on 12/17 but in reality the bond market is already foretelling the future direction of rates. Rate reduction yields soft landing yields bull market. We will look back on the 6 month slowdown only in the rate of growth and bemoan the fact that we didnt have any cash left to buy. Actually when you take 1999 and 2000 together statistically it will look like a good 2 year return overall. Under normal circumstances today would have an afternoon bounce back but the election woes may take care of that.
