Robertson Stephens on the PC Sector...fyi...

PC Industry Overview

Eric Rothdeutsch, Semiconductors/Computer Hardware

<<"More evidence materialized yesterday on PC industry weakness with data
released by market data service NPD Intellect showing that total October
PC unit sales in the distributor, retail and mail order channels declined
13% year-over-year," said Rothdeutsch. "In our opinion, this is below
even sharply reduced expectations for industry growth. We continue to
remain cautious on all PC and PC component suppliers given what appears to
be a very weak holiday season for PCs.">>

Ed,

Take a look at Dell's website for workstations today. There is a new ad offering $300 off on the entire line until 12/5... Pretty soon Dell will throw in a Dimension if you buy a Precision workstation <ggg>... As for Dell's price, hey, even Fleckenstein said he might buy Dell as a teenager. Only he didn't say if he would buy it as an 18 year old or 14 year old <ggg>.

Regards,
John
