many, many folks mortgaged their home to go into naz 4500. a % of those folks margined that debt. OUCH!

many other folks have been buying the dip... ALL THE WAY DOWN! fair value = bankruptcy for tens or hundreds of thousands of people.

ben, i can see a positive relationship developing here... ;-)

seriously, though, it is true. the people that put all their money into the naz in 1992 pales in comparison to the folks who did so in 2000 - my guess is the ratio is somewhere between 10 to 1 and 30 to 1. the naz drops 50% and folks are toast. yes, that causing that burning smell. ;-)
