Well, I think much of the margin that people took on back in Oct,98 has been liquidated from the market already... The Nasdaq is down 50% and I'm sure that folks either sold, or had their positions sold off by their brokers already. Now we're in sheer, save my pension plan, blood in the streets, panic mode.. Which is generally where the smart money prefers to buy in order to have a nice risk premium. One thing about this shake out is, if we avoid a major recession worldwide, that it will set the stage for even more future growth and possibly new highs a couple of years from now.
