Now Why Didn't I Think Of That

No wonder I'm not a dot com billionaire.

I was talking to a trader at one of the online brokers I use after the market closed this afternoon.

I asked him why all day long people can't get rid of the stock fast enough and then in the last hour they can't buy it fast enough.

He was a younger guy and didn't know I was kidding around. He said that they had a lot of customers shorting this morning, and then they were all trying to cover this afternoon.

He also said that they had so many people shorting that they were having trouble borrowing enough stock. This is very unusual for them. One of the reasons I work with them is they always have shares to borrow.

I've spoken with him a few times before so he knows me but he doesn't really know anything about my trading style. The best part was at the end of the conversation when he then went on to say that he hopes we get a rate cut soon and all the shorts will get hung out.
