yes, their earnings will most likely hold up. however, my targets LLY and BMY both have pipe-line and patent issues that are going to weigh on earnings pretty soon imo. and even if i'm wrong about that, their valuations are simply whacky. they have also a strong inverse relationship with bond yields, and i have now for quite some time got t/a signals pointing to HIGHER yields. obviously, the signals were over-ruled thus far by the stock market decline. but the bullish consensus in bond land is now incredibly thick.
i'm planning to venture into some t-bond puts or yield calls...the options on the bond future have very decent leverage. there's probably no hurry...but sometime next week i'd expect them to be ripe for assault...-g-
