Well, David, I'd be hard-pressed to argue the point on any kind of rational economic basis - but what makes you think that's what drives stock prices in the short run?

Whilst the 50% number is a bit tongue in cheek, the psychology point is that all the high flyers must take a turn sucking on the tailpipe now that the process is so far along. Madness of crowds and all that stuff, but what happens in real life is that the market will arbitrage when there's a valuation difference between economically comparable stocks. It's all relative.

'Optical'. That's what this Sonoma Cisco site thing is all about. They bought some optical networking company there (employs 500) and are looking to expand it by a factor of 5 or 10. -JCJ
