Scumbria, <The only fair way out of this is to split the electoral votes evenly between the two candidates in FL.>

Just in Florida? Why not all 50 states? I'm sure America would LOVE to do a hand recount of over 100 million votes, given how close the popular vote was. And don't forget to take the time examining each and every disputed ballot with a magnifying glass in order to determine "voter's intent."

<You might want to step back and think about the implications.>

I couldn't have said it better myself.

Scumbria,

That would be very convincing having Bush's brother and the Republican controlled legislature appoint the popular vote loser to be President. You might want to step back and think about the implications.

I think you didn't finish reading my post.

The only fair way out of this is to split the electoral votes evenly between the two candidates in FL.

You are a dreamer. But don't despair, the lawyers may still "win" it for the Sore Loserman ticket.

Scumbria, Re: The only fair way out of this is to split the electoral votes evenly between the two candidates in FL.

I agree 100% and would suggest all states to take this approach if the margin is within 1% EXCEPT THE FOLLOWING:

not this time but do it in 2004.

Al has made a good case but let's stick to the rule of the game and if it is no good or not fair, change it next time and not whining about the score of a finished one.
