Unhappy Holidays. Jeez this is getting depressing.

Scumbria-"I moved to the Valley three years ago to get rich. I didn't happen and I'm heading back to Boulder for good tomorrow."

twfowler-"The evils of margin have caught up with me"

Pravin-"I was forced to liquidate my AMD position. These last 6 months have been a very expensive lesson for me (pretty much wiped me out)."

5dave22-"Now if only the rest of the market knew it,I wouldn't be in the PO HOWSE. Right before I'm ready to buy a house."

I think my margin call will be coming tomorrow.

PS Is there a twelve step program for AMDroids?

Scumbria,

Best of luck to you in Boulder. I just bought a ticket to La Paz, Mexico. I'm going to head down there for a couple of weeks in December to get a new perspective. After tax selling is over, we have selected a new President, the Fed eases, Q4 earnings warnings are out of the way, and the market realizes that the world will be using more semiconductor products in the future than we are now, I think that we will have a strong run up in mid to late January. Too bad my leverage is gone. But, no use crying about spilt milk.

Pravin.

Scumbria, <There are things much more important than money.>
On this we can all agree. And while I am much more conservative than you, in fact only sligtly to the left of Atilla the Hun, I agree that the election fiasco is not the primary cause of this bear market.

It may actually help it get over with quicker. If there is a rally after Bush wins, it won't last. Most of the tech stocks I hear still being touted on TV and radio are way too high. I think the anti-wealth effect of this market is much more severe than the short-lived '87 crash. First, because of its duration, and second, because stocks are an important part of the finances for 3x as many people as was true in '87. That crash did not cause a recession. This one will.
