<<<Off Topic>>> More Firewall Alarm Stuff
Hi I2,
you wrote <<<"... I was debating whether or not to include all of the posts in my response to you, or just the one from the individual that I judged to have the correct answer. ..."

Imho, there is not a "correct answer" here, but rather different experiences had by different people.
Unless you believe that the other poster who reported firewall alarms and I are misreporting or misunderstanding our experiences.

As I previously mentioned, I claim No internet expertise, and hesitate to offer possible explanations for the different experiences described. However, it does occur to me that ZoneAlarm makes it easy to allow access to entities one interacts with, and to make the access perpetual. If someone using ZoneAlarm had at some prior time 'OKed' access to entity 'X', then from that time on any access by 'X' or any entity perceived as 'X' by ZoneAlarm would not trigger alarms.
---I draw no conclusions from this. I only offer it as possibly being of interest in considering the different experiences described by the 4 posters (including me)

ZoneAlarm is free (for individual non-business use)and well worth having. Imho.
Anyone reading this who would install ZoneAlarm, visit the IRS site, and report their experience wrt alarms would add to our knowledge.
---I have no connection with ZoneAlarm except that I use their product.

Here's the ZoneAlarm site ---
zonelabs.com

diana
