Wren, I have been told that the QQQ has a later closing time than the NASDAQ 100, and CNBC was saying that there was strong buying in afterhours trading.

Wren,

Richard Palm's response to you is half correct. The reason the QQQ's weren't down as much as the NDX on a closing basis is due to the fact that the QQQ's close at a later time. However, the difference is not due to strength in the QQQ's after yesterday's close. It is due to weakness in QQQ's after Wednesday's close.

If you recall GTW warned Wednesday afternoon. The QQQ's traded down on that news before they closed for the day. If you look at Wednesday's closing numbers you would see the opposite effect that you analyzed yesterday. The NDX wasn't down that much at all, but the QQQ's were down much more than the NDX.

Best Regards.
