What is needed is several pairs of pliers, assorted screwdrivers, and patience...I hate those damn tamper proof screws they've started to use. I remember when I was checking out DirectTV boxes several years ago how amazing it was to find "other" chips in place of ones we thought certain would be there.

Yeah, I once went through the inside of an Apple to see what was in there as well. Luckily, I got the thing back together in working order. They were a little more expensive back in those days...
