Hi Booters,

I am amazed at the different strategies that I have found since starting this Fixed income course. I was speaking with a manager of a small Native Corp. who is a graduate of a few years ago of this MBA program. His timing is uncanny. He has set up about 25% of the assets in bonds and runs their operational budget off the earnings. He is adamant about selling his bonds when their gains reach a certain percent. His stock management is excellent, too.

Perhaps he just sells the short term, I don't think he is going to share everything. Though he is teaching part time here this semester.

You are right in the problem, that if you sell, reinvesting could be defeating the object of capturing your gains.

Do you have any thoughts on the effects of the Junk bond problems and the European Banks holding so much?

Thanks,
Ward
