Turkeys are better at crashing back to earth than flying...-g- seriously though, the potential ramifications of an economic collapse of Turkey are no laughing matter. it is, in spite of all its failings, the only Islamic country that can boast a secular democracy..even though the military is the grey eminence that has the last word. and it is strategically important like few other countries due to its proximity to the Middle East. if the fundamentalist Islamists smell a chance to overthrow the current form of government, they may well grab it. Western influence over the region would be greatly diminished if that happens, and we don't want that....
