Re: "Politics are politics........Didn't we see that in the impeachment vote for Clinton? How many Democrats voted to impeach "good old Billy Boy"? Seems like your quote: "Besides, public servants are supposed to have the courage to do what is right." only applies to Republicans."

I think the world would be a better place if politicians of both parties had the courage to do what is right. I have no interest in rehashing impeachment. But in the present controversy, there are Democrats who have chosen to do the right thing even though it does not benefit their own party. The second circuit court decision, in which the Democratic judge ruled that Katherine Harris had properly complied with his first order, comes to mind. The largely Democratic Florida Supreme Court turned down Gore's request to force Miami-Dade County to continue the manual recount. The Democratic Palm Beach County Canvassing Board decided not to count dimpled chad unless the same ballot had similar dimples for other offices (a decision which Gore is now contesting). I'm sure there are Republicans who have made decisions irrespective of party loyalties as well. I just don't see any objective evidence that Katherine Harris is one of them.
