Scumbria,

Do you think that semis will continue to boom even if the economy goes into a recession?

I really don't know who all the ultimate consumers of these products are and what their vulnerability is. If someone is worried about their job, they aren't going to get a cell phone for their teenager. They won't buy a new car with all that flash memory or upgrade their PC. Companies will cut back on purchasing.

This country hasn't had a recession since 1991. Maybe some of the older guys can extrapolate the impact on business back then in view of the changes that have taken place, but I sure can't. I'd actually pay Paul money to get his sincere advice issue, but I'm sure I don't have enough for that.

BTW, I owe you a huge debt of gratitude. Even though this year has finally gone negative for me, I would hate to see where it would be if I hadn't bought AMD in late 1999 and I wouldn't have done that without the benefit of your insight on the Athlon.

Regards,

Jeff

RE:"I'm getting ready to start putting some money back into the market. The NAZ has dropped below it's pre Oct. 1999 curve, and the semiconductor business is booming."

Scumbria,
What happened to your "tech stocks always bottom the 3rd week of October"...didn't you get in then? I remember people hailing your call...what happened to thwart that time tested tradition?
