john, sentiment is no holy grail, in hindsite, people can look at put/calls and rydex ratios and say man were people bullish or bearish at the top or bottom. the sentiment was way way bullish all the way for the two year run off the 98 lows in nasdaq, contrarians were all scorned during that period, there is nothing to say that we won't have the reverse of that on the way down and trend followers again will rule. did anybody pay attention to the gap out of the triangle in the vix today or the move out of the sikso triangle? right now the safest bet on the market is an option spread on the boring ole utilities which are narrowing to a decision point -g-
