No they are not both trying to get them ..

Bush already has them ..

Gore is trying to get them ..

Bush is trying to get ready for the office ..

Gore just figured out that might be a good idea .. however, his main effort has been, and still is, to grab as many straws as possible.

Not doing the same? Both are not trying to get the same 25 electoral votes?

Depends on how you look at it. If a bank invests in a security system to protect the $50,000 cash in its vault, and a would-bee bank robber invests in a drill and explosives to steal the $50,000 from the bank vault, I suppose you could say they're doing the same thing, both trying to get the same $50,000.

In that sense, Bush and Gore are trying to do the same thing. But Bush is trying to protect what lawfully belongs to him at this moment, and Gore is trying to take it away from him. So in that sense they're more like the banker and the bank robber.
