Hi Rob,

You've beautifully described a common affliction in covered call writing, one which I've fallen prey to myself during volatile times like the present. I finally settled on a personal rule: only trade covered calls twice a month on any one issue. This way, you can still trade them (ie buy to close during selloff days like yesterday) and you'll limit yourself to only three broker's fees per month.

Tough situation, I know. I also tend to micromanage and find that if I trust my judgement in the first place, I'd profit more.
