Good morning, Vendit. This thread isn't about abortion, it's about politics. I brought it up because I wanted to make a point about the issue - I think, more than anything, extreme points of view on abortion have distorted the political process. There is no doubt in my mind that the so-called "soccer mom" phenomenon and the so-called "gender gap" phenomenon are caused by the positions of the parties on abortion. I haven't looked at a poll on this issue lately, but I am aware that a majority of Americans think that early abortion should be legal, and that late abortion should be banned. OK, I just took a look for a poll, and my memory is correct. According to a 1998 AP poll, 83% of Americans think abortion should be legal at least some of the time. afterabortion.com If we exclude 83% of people from the Republican party, we are doomed as a party, and Queen Hillary wins the next election. I don't accept that alternative. If you think the Republican party should call 83% of American people "child-killers", then I think it's time for those of us in the middle, the silent majority, to take back the Republican party and throw you guys out. You guys aren't going to vote Democrat anyway, so we don't lose anything by throwing you out. Vote for Pat, he agrees with you.
