I was just curious whether Ashcroft was going to retire to the Ozarks or possibly work in D.C. No "gotcha." Ashcroft and Danforth were the first two Repubs in the mid '70s to dent the Dems' hold on offices in the state. Interestingly enough, same thing happened to Danforth that happened to Ashcroft, except Danforth won later against the replacement candidate. I'm speaking, of course, of U.S. Rep. Jerry Litton's fatal plane crash in, I believe, '76.
