The good doctor has just received word from Asus that the A7M266 will not be available until the first of the new year. This pushes the date back at least five weeks from the original date. Well, time to pull the A7V back out of the box..

Re: "The chipset has to be "re-spun" by the chipset manufacturer, further delaying the otherwise solid, working platform"

Yes, there was that minor incident at the theater. Otherwise Mr Lincoln had a wonderful evening.

Re: Get this - The chipset has to be "re-spun" by the chipset manufacturer, further delaying the otherwise

Oh petulant one, the chipset doesn't support a very important feature, but is otherwise solid. Systems built with it run very well and take advantage of the new PC1600 DDR technology, but can't yet take advantage of one feature - PC2100 RAM.

So they are "otherwise solid and working".

Intel hasn't any chipset that supports RAM faster than PC800 - is the P4's chipset not "solid and working" because it doesn't support PC2100 either? (we'll assume that whatever issue caused Best Buy to barf their P4's back at Intel has been fixed)
