Carl:
Bush on the other hands seems to be just going about business and isn't making claims to high moral ground other than the fact that he won the count and recounts.

Here's a comment from someone who agrees with you:

On the candidates: "I suppose they're playing the roles you'd expect at this stage. Al Gore's in the Alamo with the last shots being fired at him. As for George W. Bush, I don't see any particular reason why he needs to get out and expose himself anymore and risk making a mistake right now. His team has been playing it pretty smart, publicly taking hold of the transition process, for instance." (Walter Cronkite's take on the post-election maneuvering)

Hi Carl - I tend to agree with Cronkite's analysis [thanks Zak for sharing the article, maybe WC is still the most trusted individual in America :),] both candidates are taking the roads of the moment [hi road and no road :)] that suit them most. To me, it is politics, nothing inherently moral or immoral about it, unless they start hurting innocent bystanders like the late President Nixon [then Sen Nixon] UnAmerican Committee in the 50s. If you choose to think one is better than the other, it is perfectly ok from your perspective. Face it, we all wear colored glasses :)! I simply don't see this is good vs evil of epic proportion.

You are right about this is the motherlode for the comedians, but I also think there can be a lot of constructive things coming out of this. It may not be overnight, but I think sensible people may reflect on the bloodsport in politics and whether they want to be part of it etc etc.

best, Bosco
