For the long long long term bulls of Japan, of which I am one, though with a weaker belief each passing year, can consider

(a) accumulate Sony (SNE.US, 6758.JP) to track on Japan internet, electronics, and world PC gaming. Optionable.

(b) accumulate faster Furukawa Electric (5801.JP, believe available as "xxxxY" foreign share in US) to track on Japan/World optical components. Had bought at Y1.8k and sold at Yen 3.x k within 12 months, but now accumulating again very slowly. 5801 also owns 20 odd % of JDSU.

(c) accumulate (so far dead money, though out performed NASDAQ for 2000) Tokyo Mitsubishi Bank (MBK) to track domestic economy - largest Japan bank may be a Citicorp replay. Can keep selling puts until putted amount you want to accumulate.

Use following site to track realtime prices of stocks in Japan ... example is Furukawa, ignore gibberish on screen and the numbers are what matters.
