Hi Quickcat,
Check with sapper
Message 14923778

I'm also thinking about seriously switching to Sympatico's DSL line. It's not that expensive and a hell of a lot better than my existing dial-up service.

Take care,
cometguy

Quickcat, sorry, I don't think I can help, but I wanted to respond because I use an almost identical setup to what you described and I have NO PROBLEMS.

I am in Calgary, using the @HOME cable service. I have a Pentium III 550 with 384 meg memory (so lots of power), I usually start a live ticker loaded with a dozen stocks and then I will open 3 or 4 market depth windows and 1 daily chart using 1 minute intervals. Like I said, never any problems.

I am curious about one thing ... who is your cable provider? Mine is Shaw ... and I have no complaints about @HOME (except for their recent e-mail delivery problems, but that seems to have cleared up now). However I do hear lots of complaints from @HOME subscribers who receive their service from Rogers. There may be something to what CSW is telling you.

Good Luck

Using Cogeco with CSW + PCQ...

Last couple weeks or so have seen a lot of very short connection losses during the day. Hitting disconnect/reconnect fires CSW right back up. Other then the disconnects which affect everyhting, have had no probs with slow data, charts, stability or anything else specific to CSW.

Today there seems to be problems connecting to numerous websites, but luckily not CSW.
