No. Sell stops get picked up the next morning. So u can easily get screwed. In those situations, I have canceled the stop and improvised. Sometimes selling after hours. More often, waiting to see how things "played out" the next morning. Fortunately, I have not been seriously burned. Indeed, I have not recently been in a situation where something negatively effecting the specific fundamentals of the company was released. In this regard, I am not "playing" any companies that have pre-announced to the downside. Rather, most (with one possible exception) have even pre-announced to the upside or affirmed guidance.
