John - *OT* - well, the Esprit, and a Lotus Europa that I have been restoring, are certainly at the other end of the spectrum - just the basics! Plus connoly leather hand stitched by little old ladies in north central England, of course. They really are - I went to the factory and watched a woman about my grandmother's age fitting an Esprit, then she packed the leather up and headed home to make alterations.

I like that end of the spectrum too - I almost bought a Viper just because it was so crude and rude. I had a Countach for a while, and that's a car that's short on amenities too. Those are great to drive for about a half an hour, when the weather is nice, and you don't have to go through a drive in window (IMPOSSIBLE in the Countach, the windows only go down a few inches), and you are in a mood to have a minor love affair with the way the car feels, sounds and smells.
