bob...ot ot "prince of darkness" my experiences have been with a slew of fine english motorcars...from aston martin vantage to rolls royce silver cloud, a horde of jag mark ii 3.8 sedans....and the latest additions a 97 xk8, and a 99 range rover...thanks to ford and bmw, the latest have no lucas parts and have been virtually trouble free.... most horrendous were the 60's jag mk ii.....windshield wipers with 9" blades, that occasionally swept the windscreen, heater blower motors that you had to put a mirror in front of to see if they were breathing, contact point operated electric fuel pumps, electric overdrives, scads of toggle switches that didn't do anything...actually were marked "spare".....on and on and on....but the wood, connoly leather and wilton carpet made you feel regal as you sat by the side of the road waiting for the tow truck.... looks like the institutions are nibbling today? take care ed a.
