Actually legalizing marijuana ended the war on drugs in Holland, which they were losing anyway. And surprisingly few Dutch take advantage of it. Kids use no more three than they use here. As for prostitution it removes sexual tension from the populace. It's controversial for sure but the ho's now even pay taxes. They are also very safe sex. However they do not take the place of the real thing. Again, it was something they were losing the war against anyway and the women were CHOOSING the profession, they weren't victims. They even have a union. I'm not adcovating either nor would I suggest America should be like Holland, I'm just telling you you should go over there and feel it out before you attack it with meaningless slogans and buzz-words. Socialism is not a dirty word. And we already have a degreee of socialism in this country and always will. The Dems and Repubs argue over whether we should have 20% more or 20% less. That's all. And again it's a trade-off. Your taxes will rise but you'll get a contented population which feels more secure. On the flip-side you can have lower taxes and "help yourself" attitude but then you get a lot more homeless and destitute people. Which is better? Depends on your perspective. Certainly a responsible government which functions efficiently is a good thing and we should all thank them not attack them. However if you live in a log cabin in Idaho with your own arsenal and plenty of animals to kill for food maybe you don't want any government at all.
