Polls are worse than meaningless. They are the tools of dishonest opinion shapers who are attempting to bypass our conscious thinking minds and manipulate our emotions.

They are an abomination to a nation of free, and freethinking people.

Dan...agreed. While I was in college, I made some chump change doing polls for some marketing survey group...you stop people in the malls (did these folks represent the views of America at large?), only get the ones who have the time or the interest in answering the poll (again, hardly representative), you then, as a college kid, lose half the responses in your dorm room (no funky chads to worry about here), then some housewife tabulates the results and presents to the marketing folks...could never believe that they would publish the results or that there were people out there who would take this too seriously, but I'm sure folks at Gallup or Nielsen would beg to differ.
