Good point. I can't imagine all the other companies in the industry sitting back and letting NOK live by a seperate set of standards. I don't know if we will see an agreement with NOK this month or next year, but the deployment of new UMTS networks is gaining visibility much faster than the industry expected.

Isn't it ironic that the proponents of WCDMA now want to argue that speed doesn't kill and everyone should be happy with GPRS and EDGE? These are intermediate upgrades to pave the way for UMTS sytems, a WCDMA air interface on a GSM-MAP core network.
