More apt would be "carving off another sliver of meat" or "carrying off another bagful of treasure". We are experiencing the emotions of the pirates and tomb robbers. If we have what was available to Soros, we would be bombarding the ocean side villages, oops, no, I meant the equity markets, with massive shorts, metals market with massive longs, and news market with scary rumors.
