after reading the swap file article you recently posted, and then going back over the langa memory piece that ed just posted, i rolled back the swap file acreage to 300mb. this is in conflict with the windows2000 recommended paging file size of 382mb. where that num comes from (as in how it was calculated), i have no idea, but it can be found in the w2k system properties performance options virtual memory dialog. i may nudge the 300 up to 400, then leave it there.

but mainly, after reviewing so much of what has been written and posted here on the subject, i have definitely rethought the stadium-sized swap file that michael mckenney recommends. i intend to still poke around and see what all he says to support his rec, but i'm running at 300mb as of now.

if anyone is really noticing any darn major difference with these swap file size adjustments, please post your findings, as i am certain we'd all like to hear about it.

:)
