Do you want to argue that the Florida Supreme Court is deliberately obstructing Gore? LOL! Putting words in my mouth that would never be there. Tssk, tssk. I find that the FL SC made two very good decisions today. The butterfly ballot issue in one that can only be resolved in the Al Gore v. Palm Beach case before Judge Sauls, and eventually appealed to the SC. This is merely following correct procedure. I could never see how the independent Dems who filed on the butterfly would have standing. Surprised it went as far as it did. The other case, Boies effort to speed up the count was one I never expected to get anywhere. Failure to exhaust all appropriate remedies in lower courts. It would have been a huge mistake for the SC to become that activist. It would have surely ignited a firestorm in the FL state legislature. As well as having been challenged to no end in the court of public opinion by the Republican spin machine. This could have clearly had an impact on the disposition of the U.S. Supreme Courts decision. Ray was blaming the delay on Judge Sauls. If you were to re-read my last couple of posts you would realize that while I am blaming Barry Richards, Phil Beck and their team of purposefully gumming up the works, I have merely commented that Judge Sauls is a partisan and he will stay clearly within the bounds of legality, as regards scheduling, but that he will do nothing to make Gore's task any easier. It's a delicious dance. Should Sauls have allowed the nearly 100, mostly redundant Republican witnesses to testify in his court, it would have clearly been a cause for action by Boies. The way he's playing it is very clever. He's moving with all reasonable deliberation, stopping the most egregious of the obstructions that the Republicans throw up, while at the same time, keeping a close eye on the clock and frustrating the Democrats while appearing to be fair. Well played. And it is all kabuki theatre from here on out. In the future, CB, you might want to check before putting words in my mouth. What I have to say might surprise you. And even if not, I believe you've stuffed me into the wrong pigeonhole. One that suits your mind, and not reality. :) Best, Ray
