You see, Doc, the reason why Gore asked for hand recounts in Palm Beach, Volusia, Miami-Dade and Broward is because they all use the punch-card systems where there are greater error rates, i.e., more undervotes, i.e., votes which never got counted

It is obvious by now, all of this was know by both parties in advance. So when we hear, "every vote is a voice, let the voices be heard" or some such mantra, that's B.S. Isn't it?

You may have a valid point about Gore's real motives in taking advantage of the benefit of optical scanning...I'd hasten however to defend the repubs objection of ballots, as perhaps not enough when we look at what happened in Broward.
