Some of us HAVE indeed watched the valuation and have sold enough covered calls to actually have made enough
short term gains on it to pay for the shares many, many times over, AFTER paying the taxes.


With a stock like PMCS that has seen several large jumps in the stock price between October 1998 and March 2000 how do keep from having the stock called away from you when you sell covered calls? Up to now I have thought it was better not to sell covered calls if you wanted to capture the long term gains in a stock with accelerating earnings growth. Please explain your strategy that permits you to sell covered calls and not have your stock called away.
